Getting out and about

25th March 2019

Thanks to a generous donation, we have been able to replace two vehicles from our aging fleet to ensure we can get our residents to their essential activities off-site.

“I am delighted that we now own a gleaming nine-seater Vivaro minibus and a nearly new seven-seater, Citroen Grand Picasso.

These vehicles have modern, economical 1.6 litre diesel engines which should prove economical to run, whilst having minimal environmental impact.

We still have money left to buy a replacement vehicle for Oaks & Willows.  We are considering a small 4x4, so we can keep running a great service, even if the weather gets a little challenging.

Vehicles are expensive to replace, and we have only been able to purchase these vehicles thanks to the kindness and generosity of our donor, and for this, we are extremely grateful”.

Fun in the houses

Fun in the houses

Six of the house mates went to see a production of 'Grease' at Canterbury this month and said it was "absolutely brilliant".

Last week both houses enjoyed a gathering called, 'it's not a Halloween Party'.  They all had a brilliant night - pictures to follow!

A very welcome visitor!

On hearing about our good CQC report, Tom Tugendhat came to visit The Oaks and the Willows.  We were delighted to meet him and show him around.

Tom has been the Member of Parliament for Tonbridge & Malling since 2015 and said of the visit:  "Great afternoon visiting Scotts Project Trust in Tonbridge. Fantastic bunch of people and some great actors."

New friends and a happy household

August 2017

New friends and a happy household

Steven moved in during June 2017 and has said how much he likes living in the house.

Steven's house mates are really happy he moved in, and really like it being an all male household!

Lee is enjoying pottery on Wednesdays at Hadlow which he loves. Being a talented artist, he has his own design on mugs, flower pots, plates and milk jugs.  The design is called 'Meadow'.

Pictured:  an item of Lee's pottery made at Hadlow Pottery.

Congratulations from Tom Tugendhat, MP

Everyone at The Oaks and Willows were delighted to receive a letter addressed to our Registered Manager, Elaine Bayley, congratulating them for a good rating from the recent CQC inspection dated 28th June 2017.

The letter, dated 21st July 2017, reads:

Dear Mrs Bayley

Congratulations on receiving an overall 'good' rating at your CQC inspection report on 28 June 2017.  Having worked with Jill and the whole team at Scotts Project Trust for a long time now, this is news which reinforces the view in the local community that you really deliver for those who you look after.

I was particularly pleased to read that you were rated outstanding for your caring.  To have trust in those who are looking after your friends or family is incredibly important for those affected, as you know.

I look forward to continuing to work closely together in the future and would be delighted to visit and meet you soon to hear more about your work.

Tom Tugendhat

We are looking forward to welcoming Tom to The Oaks and The Willows in October.  The CQC report can be found be found by clicking here.
